1. Information we collect
Account information (Google Sign-In)
KeyLens requires you to sign in with Google. With your permission, Google shares your
name, email address, profile photo and a unique account
identifier with us. We request only the basic openid, email and
profile scopes. We never receive your Google password.
Organization membership
KeyLens works inside organizations. For each member we store the organization they belong to, their role (admin or teammate), their status (active or removed), when they joined, when they last used KeyLens, and how many CSV exports they have made. To invite someone, an admin enters that person’s email address.
Export history (CSV downloads only)
When you download keywords as a CSV file, we store a record of that export:
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Who and when | Your name, email address, account identifier and the time of the export |
| Which product | The Alibaba product page address, its title and product number |
| Which keywords | The exported keywords, with their score and where on the page each came from |
| How | The file name and the extraction settings you used (for example, whether suggestions were on) |
Admin activity log
When an admin invites, removes, restores or changes the role of a member, or changes organization settings, we record the action, who performed it (their email address), who it concerned and when.
Information kept only on your device
Your KeyLens settings, the keywords found on the pages you visit, and a short-lived copy of your sign-in status are stored locally by Chrome on your computer. They are not sent to us.
2. What we don’t collect
- Your browsing history, or the content of any website other than Alibaba.com product pages.
- Keywords you only view, filter or copy: only CSV downloads are recorded.
- Passwords, payment information, or the content of your Google account (email, files, contacts).
- Advertising identifiers or tracking data for advertising.
3. How KeyLens reads pages
KeyLens only has access to alibaba.com. When you open an Alibaba product page, KeyLens reads
the page’s title, meta tags, category, product attributes and related searches in your browser to build
the keyword list. This happens on your computer.
If “Alibaba suggestions” is turned on in Settings, KeyLens asks Alibaba’s own search-suggestion service for suggestions on the product’s main terms. That request goes directly from your browser to Alibaba and is subject to Alibaba.com’s own privacy policy. You can turn this off at any time.
4. How we use information
- To sign you in and confirm you belong to an organization that uses KeyLens.
- To show your organization’s admins their members and export history, and to manage seats.
- To keep KeyLens secure, prevent misuse and troubleshoot problems.
- To respond when you or your organization contact us for support.
We do not sell or rent your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles unrelated to running KeyLens.
6. Google user data (Limited Use)
We use Google account information only to sign you in and identify you within your organization. We do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide KeyLens (our hosting provider, Google Firebase), to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you. We do not use it for advertising, and no person reads it except with your consent, for security purposes, or to comply with law.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and membership information is kept while you belong to an organization that uses KeyLens.
- Export history and the activity log are kept for your organization until it asks us to delete them. When a member is removed, their past exports stay visible to the organization’s admins.
- When an organization stops using KeyLens, or on a valid deletion request, we delete or anonymize the related information within 30 days, unless we must keep it to comply with law.
- Information on your device is removed when you sign out or uninstall the extension.
8. Security
Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by Google Cloud. Access is controlled by Google sign-in and database security rules that keep each organization’s data separate and allow admins to see only their own organization. Export records cannot be edited after they are created. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected organizations of a breach as required by law.
9. Your choices and rights
- Sign out or uninstall at any time from the extension or Chrome.
- Turn off Alibaba suggestions in KeyLens Settings.
- Access, correct or delete your information: contact your organization’s admin, or us at the address below. Because KeyLens is provided to organizations, we may need to confirm requests with your organization.
- Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK, India or California), you may have additional rights, such as to object to processing or to complain to a data protection authority.
10. Children
KeyLens is a business tool and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as KeyLens changes. We will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify organization admins before they take effect.
